This blog is for the cheeky ladies who dare to walk on the wild side by amplifying their perfect pouts with; Bonfire reds, Pinks and Posh Plumbs. You go Girls!
With all my years experience in the image industry, there is one universal question I am asked frequently by women of all walks of life;
"How do I get my lipstick to stay put? I put it on and it's just gone within an hour."
I can honestly say I relate. I've dealt with the same mysterious vanishing lipstick act for years. I've tried all of the "Pros" tips and tricks in an attempt to control my roaming lip color; I've patted my lips with pressed facial powder prior to application to try to absorb any surplus oils, I've filled in my lips with a lip liner to create a solid base for the lip color to adhere to, I have even smeared my lips with foundation with hopes it would stick to my lips the way it sticks to my face when I accidentally get a bit over zealous. Unfortunately I still ended up bare lipped and confused by brunch time.
Until one day a few months ago, I stumbled across a nifty, seemingly obvious, invention called " Lip Primer". I know it's a crazy concept, but it does exist ladies, and there is hope on the lipstick horizon.

E.L.F., one of my favorite beauty bargain brands, has lain to rest the mystery of the phantom lip lacquer. They created a, no budge, no smudge Lip Primer & Plumper which truly WORKS! Simply apply the nude colored creme side of the stick to your lips prior to your beloved lip rouge, and you are rich with lasting color for hours. On the opposite end is a tangy Cinnamon lip plumping stick. I don't personally use it but it's available for anyone who wants to plump up their pucker. The best part about this magic stick is it will only set you back a whopping $3/ That's what I call Style Savvy. Click below to purchase, and never lose your lipstick again .
I blow E.L.F. Lip Primer & Plumper 5out of 5 long wearing kisses.

TIP: The primer will completely camouflage your natural lip color and silhouette by creating a 100% even canvas for the lipstick to lie on. Therefore you will certainly need to use a lip liner to outline and highlight your lip shape. Try your best to purchase a lip liner that matches your lipstick color. If that's not a possibility, get a nude tone. Please no dark lip liner ladies, that look went out while "JLo" was a fly girl.
When I first meet someone the initial characteristic I am drawn to is the mouth. In my Style Savvy opinion a person's mouth is a subtle indication of how this individual feels about themselves A smile speaks volumes about; personal hygiene, their level of self confidence, attitude and over all demeanor. For example a more outgoing and self-assured woman may wear a brighter hue of lip color and flash a smile often, Whereas conversely a more introverted woman may wear Chapstick or no color at all, and never part her lips.
For example, let's consider this situation for a moment; you walk in to your local neighborhood bank to open an account. The woman behind the desk greets you with a clean, bright, healthy pink smile. How does that make you feel? I'm sure I would feel secure and reassured. Reassured because this woman looks as if she has her life together. I feel confident she is competent enough to handle my finances. Now, lets consider the opposite scenario. The woman behind the desk smiles and flashes dry, cracked lips sheltering a set of off white teeth. What initial impression is this woman communicating to you? She can't even manage to maintain her appearance, how confident am I that she will properly manage my accounts. This situation is also relevant while interviewing for a job, meeting a potential love interest and basically any other human interactions.
As you can clearly see a smile really is worth a thousand words. So make a direct and conscious efforts to present your best pucker possible and start telling the story you want people to hear about you.
Now that we've discovered the importance of an inviting smile and secured our lip color with our lip primer, let's take a moment to discuss the health of our pearly whites.
Despite what the media and your very expensive Orthodontist say, you don't have to have perfectly straight teeth to have a divine smile. You also don't have to have a fat wallet either. Many people forgo teeth whitening systems because they can be quite expensive, inconvenient and at times, messy.
Zoom Laser Teeth Whitening, performed by your dentist can run you hundreds of dollars. Although extremely effective, I personally don't have an extra $400 laying around for oral hygiene purposes. Drugstore home whitening kits can range anywhere from $10 sloppy whitening pens to $90 harsh bleaching kits.
For years I thought the only way I could get healthy white teeth was to use Crest White Strips, which ran me about$30 every other month or so. Until I found; Natural White 5 Minute Whitening Gel. The system comes complete with a tube of whitening gel and a refillable tray you place in your mouth for 5 minutes every morning while you make coffee and dress yourself. My husband and I both use it daily and it has made a noticeable difference for both of us. No sloppy dissolving chalky strips that slip and wont grip and it's safe for sensitive teeth as well.
Oh, and did I for get to mention it cost me $2 at Dollar General. For that price the only story my pretty pout will be singing is, "I'm Style Savvy and LOVIN IT."
I blow Natural White 5 Minute Whitening Gel 5 out of 5 kisses.
