The big O, stands for Organic.

More and more Americans are becoming increasingly aware of harmful toxins in our every day environments. Some are unavoidable, while others can be eliminated if you know where to look and what you're looking for. The detrimental effects of chemical toxins have a vast array of symptoms including; chronic headaches, muscle aches, diarrhea, weight gain, depression, sluggishness, indigestion, constipation, skin irritations, and many many more. The major problem is we, the consumer, are unaware of the chemicals being used as preservatives in our: food, cosmetics, cleaning supplies, and personal care products. We assume they are safe when they are negatively affecting our quality of life. There are major funds supplied by the powers that be withholding information on chemical safety and possible side effects. In doing so, disabling us from making an educated purchasing decisions. Lets start to think about the big O... Organic that is.

The typical stigma around organic cosmetics and skincare products are no longer valid my friends. Many of the products themselves rival those of the expensive department store brands in quality, performance and price. By the way, not all organic products smell like week old unwashed hair and pachuli. There are some fantastically fragrant products that are good for your health, as well as the wallet.

Nubian Heritage is one of the many many organic skincare lines that I have used and by far my favorite to date. The company is young only 10 years old with a mere 4 retail stores. They make their products with natural and organic ingredients and do not participate in animal testing. May I just say they offer the most incredible scents of any personal care line, not just the organic ones.

Their product line includes: Soaps, Body Wash, Lotions, Body Mists, Hand Cream, Lip Balms, and Room Diffusers. Their lotion formula is so rich and luxurious. It's soothing, deep and penetrating, moisturizing even the heals of my feet and elbows. FYI; I am a runner and those heels need some TLC frequently! It sinks deep into the skin and leaves a soft moist touch, not a greasy film or that weird stickiness. It's also sensitive enough to put on my face without causing breakouts, and my skin is always making a break for it.

I adore, adore, adore the Honey & Black Seed scent. I slather on the lotion after my shower and there is no further need for perfume. The scent lingures all day while I remain hydrated and chemical free. They offer a broad range of scents and I have yet to meet one I don't want to immediately put in my mouth.
MMMMMMMM a few of the favs are:
African Black Soap with Oats & Aloe
Goats Milk and Chai
Carrot Pomegranate.

They offer most scents in soaps, lotions, and body sprays so you can mix and match or buy a matching gift set for your favorite person or, lets face it ourselves. You can order on line and don't worry ladies and gents even though you haven't sampled any of the scents before you order it, you'll be happy with what ever you choose, they are all that superb.

I have spent a better part of my young woman hood searching for the perfect nail polish brand. Not even the color that's the most complimentary or my " signature color" but the brand of polish that has all of my requirements. I have a massive bag under my sink filled to the brim with every price range, color, gimmick, organic, and brand of polish. I have expensive nail strengthening systems, salon brands, cheap-o store brands and even some home made polishes. Yea its like that. However, I found a brand that is made especially for and by a pregnant woman. She was preggers and looking for a polish that was not't all hyped up on chemicals so it would be safer for her baby. So she developed her own small nail salon into a spa focusing on natural nails, skin care and alternative European herbal treatments.

Zoya is the name, polish is the game! I've found that the polish is not only safe to wear, but safe to inhale without feeling faint. And by the way it lasts forever. I swear to you I wore it not only on my toes but on my flimsy fingernails for 2 weeks without a single chip or crack. My pedicure actually grew out before I needed to change the polish. The polish its self is rich and saturated and it binds to your natural nail with out staining it yellow when you remove it. There are no air bubbles when applied, it's smooth, strong, and sexy. There are over 12 pages of totally relevant colors to choose from on their website with extremely accurate detailed descriptions.
They give you the base color, the finish of the polish, and a sheer to opaque (1-5 scale) to gauge the depth. Hello, they dont even give you that in the store!! Thanks Zoya, I am now one Fly chic with out having to wear a mask to polish my nails.
